Chances are if you have a Facebook account, you’ve likely written a Happy Birthday message on the wall of one of your friends. Maybe you’ve even given a birthday gift through Facebook Gifts. It’s a pretty cool feature, especially if you find yourself having forgotten the special day of a friend or relative.
Starbucks rolled out something today that’s a step up on the clever scale. Tweet a Coffee allows you to connect your Starbucks and Twitter accounts and send any Twitter user a $5 eGift. Along with the eGift is an opportunity to send a message.
Let’s say there’s a CEO of a business you’ve been trying to connect with or a keynote speaker you admire after seeing a great TED talk—now you can tweet them a coffee inviting them to meet to discuss how you might help their business or thanking them for their inspiring presentation.
The opportunities are endless.
Some might find this creepy, but could it be a new way of networking?
