As I said the other day, coverage of the economy could be bad for your wallet … kind of a combination of “Groundhog Day” and “National Lampoon Vacation” movie re-runs. When a story starts with “We’ve officially entered the murky area of the recession” you know very well they don’t know what is happening so they are going to let you decide by providing you “yes” and “no” checklists.
This St. Pete Times story headlined “Are we in a financial recovery yet? Maybe — or maybe not” by Staff Writer Jeff Harrington is a perfect example of the kind of nonsense local papers need to avoid.
Not knowing the answer is no reason to write another story.
